PURPOSE: To generate an object program at a high speed by discriminating and analyzing the description of a pointer indication range restriction in a source program, optimizing it by utilizing analytic information, and deciding processing to be made parallel. ;CONSTITUTION: When there is a pointer reference expression in the source program 101, description of a pointer restriction indication is added to indicate that there is no overlap of the reference area of a pointer, and a compiler 102 processes a pointer restriction indication analysis 123 simultaneously with a source program analyzing processing 111 to analyze the description of the pointer restriction indication, and generates pointer restriction information 127 with the analytic information. Then the computer 102, when deciding the parallelization of the statement of the pointer reference expression by a parallelism deciding processing, refers to its information to judge that this statement can perform a parallelization processing (or vectorization processing).
