PURPOSE: To easily, effectively and automatically arrange the parts in a space with use of a small quantity of space definition data. ;CONSTITUTION: This system/method includes the definition data input means 1-5 which input the parts arrangement space definition data including the parts names, a parts data storing means 9 which previously stores the arrangement rule data 9c and the shape data 9b for each parts name, the macro program production means 6-9 which produce the macro programs based on the space definition data received from the means 1-5 and the arrangement rule data corresponding to the parts names in order to arrange the parts in a space, and the parts arrangement means 11 and 12 which calculate the parts arrangement coordinates from the macro programs produced by the means 6-9 and also produce the parts arrangement data to produce the parts from the shape data stored in the means 9 and to store these parts at the coordinate positions in the space.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
