DIAGNOSIS AND MONITOR OF LUNG CANCER OF PATIENT WITH MEASUREMENT OF NCA50/90 IN BLOOD

PURPOSE: To assist disgnosis of lung cancer by using an index for such cancer consisting of existence of a level at which the nonpeculiar crossing reaction antigen(NCA) 50/90 in the blood of a patient has increased significantly. ;CONSTITUTION: An antigen NCA 50/90 increases significantly in the blood of a patient suffering from lung cancer. The NCA 50/90 content of a blood specimen sampled from any person exhibiting an indication of lung cancer is measured and compared with the mean of NCA 50/90 in the normal population. Existence of the quantity level at which the NCA 50/90 content of the blood has increased significantly, is used as the index for lung cancer having propagated in the patient. This serves diagnosis of a patient exhibiting an indication of lung cancer, and a doctor uses it in diagnosis along with other information implying his suffering from lung cancer. An increment of blood NCA 50/90 level for a certain period shows usually a situation of worsening, while a sink of the blood NCA 50/90 level shows situation that the decease situation has improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
