FEED FOR MEAT COLOR IMPROVEMENT IN RED MEAT FISH AND BREEDING RED MEAT FISH

PURPOSE:To provide the feed for improving meat color in red meat fish and a breeding method for improving the meat color of red meat fish. CONSTITUTION:Feed containing 10 to 100ppm of astaxanthin and 50 to 5,000ppm of glutathione is given to cultured fish. The accumulation of astaxanthin in fish bodies is largely increased to give, for example, rainbow trouts of the same bright red meat as that of naturally growing ones.
