摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a quantitative pipette usable even under gravityfree environment such as cosmic space. ;CONSTITUTION: A freely expandable sleeve 3 is so mounted that its root part 3b projects inward from the front end 1a of a cylinder 1 so that a spacing 4 is formed between this projecting part 3b and the front end 1b of the cylinder. The length of the sleeve 3 is adjusted to comply with the volume of the liquid to be sucked and thereafter, the liquid is absorbed by a piston 2. The liquid creeps up on the inside wall of the sleeve 3 by a Marangoni effect but there is the spacing 4 and, therefore, more than the specified volume thereof does not creep up on the inside wall and does not enter the inside of the cylinder 1.
