PURPOSE: To provide an original platen for book original in which the whole device can be miniaturized. ;CONSTITUTION: This original platen is a book original platen to place a book original BO by confronting the original surface of the book original BO with the scanning plane of a scanning unit 200 to perform the reading or page-turning of the original surface of the book original BO, and the position of them open center of the binding part BOa of the book original BO open and placed on the original platen 1 is aligned with the scan reference center position of the scanning unit 200 even when any page of the book original BO is opened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
