PURPOSE:To provide a method for cooling or heating with a molecular heat pump of a low-cost reversed Carnot cycle by eliminating consideration for elevated technique for generating a ferromagnetic field like a demagnetizing cooling method without using fluorocarbon or preventing influence of a ferromagnetic field to a peripheral unit. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for cooling and heating with a molecular heat pump of a reversed Carnot cycle comprises heat insulation polarizing means 2 for applying a primary predetermined voltage to a ferroelectric element capable of flowing to raise a temperature of the element by isentropic change, and isothermal polarizing means 3 for externally dissipating internal energy of the element upon application of a secondary predetermined voltage to the element after temperature rising to reduce entropy of the element by isothermal polarization change. Further, the apparatus comprises heat insulation depolarizing means 4 for applying a tertiary predetermined voltage to the element reduced in entropy to lower a temperature of the element by isentropic change, and isothermal depolarizing means for applying a quartic predetermined voltage to the lowered element to increase entropy of the element by isothermal depolarization change upon absorbing of external energy.
