PURPOSE: To provide a book document page turning reader where a document read position is prevented from being displaced by the scanning position of a scanning unit, accurate read is performed, the surface of a belt-like covering member is not electrostatically charged and discharge phenomenon is not caused. ;CONSTITUTION: The surface of the book document BO press-contacted to the scanning unit 200 side is received by the lower surfaces of document covering rollers 281a and 281b through document covering sheets 282a and 282b. Electrostatic charge preventing processing is performed to at least the lower surface side of the sheets 282a and 282b. The sheets 282a and 282b are constituted of a conductive member and electrically grounded to a device main body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
