METHOD FOR DECOLORING TEXTILE PRODUCT AND POLYURETHANE FOAM HAVING ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIFUNGAL PROPERTY IMPARTED THERETO BY SILVER COATING

PURPOSE: To readily remove the coloring caused in a textile product and a polyurethane in which excellent antimicrobial and antifungal properties are imparted by silver coating with an oxidizing agent without deteriorating various performances. ;CONSTITUTION: A silver film is formed on a textile product such as animal or vegetable natural fiber, straw and synthetic fiber or a polyurethane foam by a replacing plating method for scouring the textile product or polyurethane foam, then dipping the soured textile product or polyurethane foam in a mixed aqueous solution prepared by mixing one of tin chloride (II) and tin sulfate (II) with one of hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, subsequently washing the dipped textile product or polyurethane foam with water and then dipping the washed textile product or polyurethane foam in an aqueous solution of silver sulfate. In the process, the produced colored treatment product is subjected to the oxidation treatment by using an oxidizing agent such as a hypochlorite, a chlorite, a peroxodisulfate, chromic acid and a salt thereof and decolored without deteriorating excellent antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Thereby, the textile product and polyurethane foam in white color or a color close thereto is obtained.
