PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber product or a polyurethane foam having durable antibacterial and antifungal properties and a low temperature radiation function by treating a fiber product or a polyurethane from with a substituting plating method to form a silver-white coating film thereon. CONSTITUTION:A fiber product or a polyurethane foam is subjected to a preliminary treatment, cleaned, immersed in the aqueous solution of the mixture of one of tin (II, IV) chlorides and tin (II, IV) sulfates with hydrochloric acid and/or sulfuric acid, and subsequently washed with water. The treated fiber product or the polyurethane foam is immersed in the aqueous solution or hydrochloric acid-containing aqueous solution of a platinum compound (or after preliminarily immersed in the aqueous solution of silver nitrate), washed with water, again immersed in the solution containing the mixture of one of the tin (II, IV) chlorides and the tin (II, IV) sulfates with the hydrochloric acid and/or the sulfuric acid, washed with water, further immersed in the aqueous solution of the silver nitrate (or immersed in the aqueous solution or hydrochloric acid-containing aqueous solution of the platinum compound), and finally washed with water to form the composite coating film of silver, platinum or platinum- silver, thus imparting the excellent antibacterial and antifungal properties and the good low temperature radiation function to the fiber product or the polyurethane foam.
