SURGICAL DEVICE FOR BLOOD VESSEL FORMATION, CATHETER FOR BLOOD VESSEL FORMATION, BALOON CATHETER AND GUIDE WIRE FOR SURGERY

PURPOSE: To substantially enhance the movability of a device inside a pulsatory vessel by controllably changing some of the mechanical characteristics of the device, while the device is arranged inside the pulsatory vessel of a patient. CONSTITUTION: The mechanical characteristics of various blood-vessel forming surgical devices are changed, while being arranged in the pulsatory vessel of a patient, by changing the operating temperature thereof for enhancing the movability though the blood vessel system. The blood-vessel forming surgical device is provided both with a long slender member 15 having a prescribed region 14 that is formed by a material having a mechanical characteristic being changed in accordance with the variation in the operating temperature of the material, and with a controlling means by which the operating temperature in the prescribed region is controllably changed. Further, the rise in the temperature is used for increasing the flexibility, or thereby for returning the device to a specific shape; while on the other hand, the fall in the temperature is useful for increasing the rigidity and rupture strength.
