METEOROLOGICAL INFORMATION OBTAINING METHOD UTILIZING INTERACTIVE CATV SYSTEM AND WEATHER FORECASTING METHOD BASED ON THE METEOROLOGICAL INFORMATION

PURPOSE: To unnecessitate special equipments by collecting weather data by relay transmission lines inside a CATV area. ;CONSTITUTION: When meteorological observation devices 2 installed in respective places on the relay transmission lines 1 perform meteorological observation such as an air temperature, humidity, air pressure, a wind speed, a wind direction, the duration of sunshine, the amount of rainfall, the amount of snow and the amount of snow cover, etc., since the meteorological information is transmitted through the line for incoming signals of the transmission lines 1 to a center 3, the meteorological information inside the area of a CATV system can be collected exclusively in the center 3 by receiving the meteorological information. Since the device 2 collect the meteorological information by utilizing the transmission lines 1 spreaded like a net inside the area of the CATV, when the devices 2 are attached to the respective places on the transmission lines 1 directly or through relay transmitters 5, the meteorological information inside the area ca be easily collected in the center 3 without using a telephone circuit like AMeDAS. Thus, in the area provided with the interactive CATV system, special communication equipments such as the telephone circuit and radio channels, etc., are unnecessitated and the investment for the equipments can be suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
