The device comprises a fixed shape tube that surrounds at least part of the plant stem, and at least one reinforcing yarn comprising one or more filament attached to the inside of the tube for tying under the root section of the plant. The device is mfd. by firmly bonding a continuous thread on one side of a piece of material such as paper and then cutting the material into square pieces which can be formed into tubes.
