This invention consists of a hand-held appliance of cylindrical shape ending in a frustum of a cone. Inside the cylinder is an electromagnet which, via a pushbutton situated on the housing, is energized by a voltage which, from the supply mains and through a special electronic circuit, is converted into a very brief spike such as to produce an impulsive force on a mobile cylinder of ferromagnetic material, which thus pushes the piston on which the mark is fixed out of the end cone onto the object that is to be punched.
