The invention relates to an enclosed, double-decker, trackbound transport waggon for transporting road vehicles. In order to ensure that noxious substances which result from the operation of internal combustion engines during the loading and unloading process are carried away, the transport waggon is provided with a ventilation device (3) which has a ventilation system which is connected to the lower deck (1) and to the upper deck (2), at least parts of the ventilation system of the upper deck (2) being a component of the ventilation system of the lower deck (1). In the floor region of the lower deck (1) and upper deck (2), discharge air suction ports (6) and (8) are arranged. Inlet air suction ports (9) for feeding air into the lower deck (1) are arranged between the lower deck (1) and upper deck (2). In the upper region of the upper deck (2), fresh air suction ports (10) are arranged via which the ventilation system is connected at one end to the external air. At the other end, the ventilation system is connected to at least one ventilation unit (11) in suction mode, which unit (11) carries away the discharge air in the lower region of the transport waggon to the outside.
