In the case of pre-stressed pre-stressed pre-stressed components with post-tensioning, for example prestressed concrete sleepers, cracks in the concrete often occur under loads that not only do not close when relieved, but also widen with increasing number of load cycles. A series of tests on sleepers have shown that the cause of this damage is an inadequate bond between the tension bars and the precast concrete. These three components are: the bond between prestressing rod and grout, the quality and strength of the grout, the bond between grout and concrete.
