The cleaning device for a machine handling integrated circuit bank cards comprises a card of the same dimensions as a standard card. On each side of the card a part of the surface carries a cleaning pad (11,11A) which is intended to collect and retain dust and other dirt. Further along one face of the card is a further cleaning pad which touches the electrical contacts (19,20). This cleans the contacts to ensure their satisfactory operation in personalising the card with specific information. The material for cleaning the electrical contacts has a very fine grain size. IMAGE
