The present invention relates to a compound having an ability to inhibit lipoxygenase enzyme activity, a pharmaceutical composition containing the same, and a medical treatment method thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to certain substituted arylalkynyl-and ((heteroaryl) acanyl)-N-hydroxy-ureas that inhibit leukotriene biosynthesis, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and methods of inhibiting leukotriene biosynthesis .
