The present invention relates to a process for producing a green phosphor of the present invention and a fluorescent lamp using the same, and in the process for producing the green phosphor of the present invention, an alkali metal pyrophosphate M_xP₂O₇ nH₂O (M is at least one element of Li, Na, and K, n = 0) is used as a part of a solvent.;According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a fluorescent material having a uniform particle shape and a much narrower particle size distribution by increasing the luminance of emitted light by 4 to 5% as compared with the conventional fluorescent material, thereby contributing greatly to the improvement of the characteristics of the fluorescent lamp.
