The noise test bed for motor vehicle transmissions (1) has a holder consisting of pref. two carriers with end adaptors (19,20) protruding from a platform, shafts which can be driven or braked for simulating different loadings at different speeds and a vibration transducer. The carriers are arms (11,12) of simple cross-section with increasing polar moment of inertia towards the platform (10) and straight profile. They are dynamically stiffly coupled to the platform to form a stiff base body with resonant frequencies above the frequency region of interest for vibration measurement.
