The present invention relates to toxicologically unobjectionable examples of the title pigments, comprising the host component Ti1-xSnxO2 where 0 /= x /= 0.2 and from 0.1 to 50 per cent by weight of oxide guest components of those cations with a radius of between 0.52 and 0.97 ANGSTROM , the ratio of the sum of added cations to the sum of added anions corresponding approximately or exactly to 1:2 while maintaining electroneutrality, to processes for the preparation of these substances and to their use for incorporation into inorganic and organic dispersions for which thermal resistance and/or electrical conductivity and/or catalytic activity may also be of importance.
