Use of natural cold-pressed linseed oil

The following are claimed: (A) use of linseed oil, comprising natural cold-pressed seed oil of Linum usitatissimum, as a supplement nutrient to promote muscle growth in horses. (B) prepn. of a supplement nutrient for use in promoting muscle growth in horses, comprising (a) crushing washed, dried, fragment-free, germinable linseed, after pressure-free transfer into the gas between the screw and the head-plate of a pressing cylinder, (b) filtering the linseed oil, which passes without pressure from the discharge at the pressure of up to 0.5MPa; and (c) drawing off the prod. without further treatment steps or addn. of additives. The temp. during the whole process is less than 35 deg C..
