A method of treating solid products containing low melting point metal, whereby these products are heated in a first zone, thermolysed (2) in a second zone under subatmospheric pressure while collected with the aid. a siphon (7) for the liquid metal flowing from the products, then these products are reduced in a third zone, these zones being isolated from each other and vis-à-vis the outside by doors forming an airlock.
