The invention relates to a process for the synthesis of anhydrous fluorides and of fluorinated glasses which consists in reacting a starting material in a closed chamber with hydrogen fluoride released, in the said chamber, by hydrolysis of a fluorinated agent, the said starting material not being in direct contact with the said agent. It also relates to a process for the synthesis of fluorinated glass.
