The present invention relates to a siliceous grain-based product designed to be used in a method of scouring kitchen utensils and/or industrial components. The product is placed in the bottom of a chamber heated by means of a combustible gas, in the upper part of which chamber the utensils and/or components to be scoured are placed. This product is characterised in that it consists of aggregated balls composed of river sand and clay.
