Use of a composite yarn of the type loop for the manufacture of products of scouring products and their method of manufacturing.

The composite filament, e.g. for a scourer, comprises a core (2) round which a filament (3) is wound in a spiral with non-touching coils. The filament is wound round the core in an irregular spiral, with some coils grouped together and others spaced, and designed to form loops. The filament has at least one sharp edge and is made from a material selected from metals, metallised plastics and hard plastics, and is pref. in the shape of a blade. The core (2) can be made from filaments of two materials, e.g. one of polypropylene and the other of polyamide or polyester.
