Composite electrofusion pipe fitting

A composite electrofusion pipe fitting is disclosed which comprises: a plurality of hollow thermoplastic sleeve members, as 2, at least two of the sleeve members each having an electric heating element, as 6, 7, located about the inner wall thereof; the sleeve members being joined to each other by melt fusion so as to leave those sleeve members provided with electric heating elements available to receive pipes therein to be joined thereto by electrofusion. Electrical terminals, as 11, 12, are disposed longitudinally of the heating element, relative to the sleeve. A method is described of making a weldable pipe fitting by injecting molten thermoplastic polmeric material, allowing it to solidify, and separating the sleeve axially from the mould. IMAGE
