PURPOSE: To accurately perform the positioning of a permanent magnet and facilitate its mounting operation. ;CONSTITUTION: In a driving device for a railway rolling stock which is composed of an outer rotor type electric motor comprising a stator 14 fixed to an axle shaft for supporting rotation in both ends of wheels 12a, 12b and a rotor fixed to the wheels in both end parts of a cylindrical frame with a plurality of permanent magnets 16 disposed and fixed on the peripheral side of the stator, a plurality of permanent mounting holes 31 disposed in the cylindrical frame in opposite to the peripheral side of the stator of the outer rotor type electric motor and a closing plate 32 composed of another body to the cylindrical frame for closing the permanent magnet mounting holes in which the permanent magnets are mounted on the inside.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
