POROUS CERAMICS FROM LAKE AND POND BOTTOM MUD AND TREATMENT OF LAKE AND POND BOTTOM MUD

PURPOSE: To obtain porous ceramics by dehydrating and drying the bottom mud deposited in lakes and ponds, then calcining the bottom mud, thereby reducing the weight and volume of the bottom mud. CONSTITUTION: The bottom mud 1 deposited on the lake mud is dredged and is sent by a transporting pipe 2 to a foreign matter separating machine 3, by which foreign matter 4 of gem is removed; thereafter, waste water is separated and removed in a settling chamber 5. The mud water deposited in the lower part of this settling chamber 5 is dehydrated by a dehydrating machine 7, by which the dehydrated bottom mud 8 of a moisture of =50wt.% is obtd. This dehydrated bottom mud 8 is sent via a conveyor 9, a drying machine 10 and a metering feeder 11 to a calcination furnace 12 where the dehydrated bottom mud is calcined at 800 to 1100 deg.C.
