EARLY YIELDING TYPE BRACE

摘要

PURPOSE: To allow a structure incorporating a yielding type brace with enhanced buckling resistance to have great stress damping by forming the brace shaft of the yielding brace from a very-low-yielding-point steel. ;CONSTITUTION: The main spindles 2, 2 of brace shafts 4, 4 are each so formed to have a cruciform cross section, and skeleton mounting portions 3... are provided at both ends of the main spindles 2, 2. Concrete is cast around the main spindle 2 to form precast concrete. In this yielding type brace 1, the brace shaft 4 is constructed of a very-low-yielding--point steel. When integrated into the framework of a steel structure the early yielding type brace 1 is unlikely to buckle even at the application of a compressive force during an earthquake, and is allowed to reach its yielding point at early stages of application of a tensile force, thereby absorbing that external force.
