KANA (JAPANESE SYLLABARY)/KANJI (CHINESE CHARACTER) CONVERSION DEVICE AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To check modification between clauses which are written with a space and to learn on modification when a next candidate is selected. CONSTITUTION: When the flag of modification learning is turned on (step S600), a modified word exists in a modifying word clause (steps S610 and 620). When the next candidate is selected in the modifying word clause or a modified word clause (steps S630 and 540), modification information is generated and is registered in a dictionary (steps S650 and 660). Only when the part of speech on the next candidate is the same as the part of speech on the candidate which is judged that modification is satisfied, information is registered. Consequently, the judgement of modification can widely be executed without making more a modification dictionary 98 uselessly large in volume.
