PURPOSE: To obtain a soil conditioner not requiring use of a conventional agrochemical having strong toxicity due to harmless execution of soil conditioning and extermination of insect pests, having extremely safety, no contamination of underground water and, in using Panax notoginseng juice as an antimicrobial solution for retaining freshness of plant and hydroponic culture, having merits of raising safety much more and slight influence caused by reduction in pH resulting from electrolytic sterilization. ;CONSTITUTION: The soil conditioner and repellent for insect pests are obtained by adding cinnamic aldehyde to Panax notoginseng juice, a carbohydrate and a water-soluble resin, forming a cyclic resin, blending the cyclic resin with a mixture of methyl 3,4-dimethoxycinnamate, vanillin and benzaldehyde, mixing the blend with a chitin chitosan solution, diluting the blend with water, spraying the diluted solution upon soil and plants to exterminate insect pests and to provide antimicrobial activity, using both the diluted solution and a mixture obtained by mixing fermented compost with bentonite containing a yeast fungus and zeolite power and blending the mixture with soil and prevent replant failure and exhibit repellence of insect pests.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
