NEW LIGHT-INDUCED DNA-BREAKING AGENT

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject DNA breaking agent stable in a light-shielded state and generating free radicals by reacting oxygen molecule under the irradiation with ultraviolet rays to cause the breakage of DNA by compounding a specific N-aryl-N-benzylhydroxylamine. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective new light-induced DNA-breaking agent composition stable in a light-shielded state and generating free radicals HO.by reacting with oxygen molecule under the irradiation with ultraviolet rays for 2-3 hr to cause the breakage of DNA with the HO.free radicals in high breaking efficiency is produced by compounding an aqueous buffer solution such as sodium phosphate buffer solution (pH 5-8) with an N-aryl-N-benzylhydroxylamine expressed by formula (R is a 1-6C alkyl, phenyl, phenoxy, a 1-6C alkoxy, a 1-6C alkoxycarbonyl, a halogen or a 1-6C haloalkyl) at a concentration of 10-1,000 μM and adding 10 vol.% ethanol to the mixture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
