MELANOGENESIS PROMOTOER CONTAINING PHLORETIN GLYCOSIDE AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT AND PRODUCTION OF PHLORETIN GLYCOSIDE

PURPOSE: To obtain a melagenosis promoter, containing a phloretin glycoside as an active ingredient, capable of promoting synthesis of melanin even without any actions of ultraviolet rays and effective in preventing dermal cancer from occurring and hair of the head from whitening and further blackening gray hair, etc. ;CONSTITUTION: This melanogenesis promoter contains a phloretin glycoside of the formula (R¹ to R³ are each H, glucosyl or xyloglucosyl; one or more of R¹ to R³ are glucosyl or xyloglucosyl) as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula is obtained by treating a pressed fruit juice from an unripe fruit of an apple or a pear or an extracted liquid with an enzyme having β- glucosidase activities, converting phloridzin in the pressed fruit juice or extract liquid into sparingly soluble phloretin, then purifying and recovering the phloretin, treating the resultant phloretin with a sugar transferase, etc., thereby converting the treated phloretin into the phloretin glycoside and affording the phloretin glycoside.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
