MASTER MOLD FOR MOLDING OPTICAL SCALE, PRODUCTION THEREOF, PRODUCTION OF STAMPER FOR MOLDING OPTICAL SCALE AND PRODUCTION OF OPTICAL SCALE

PURPOSE: To accurately produce a master mold for molding an optical scale within a short time by providing a soft layer having hardness lower than that of a master on the master having a smooth surface and cutting the soft layer to form a scale pattern. ;CONSTITUTION: A soft layer 1 having hardness lower than that of a master 2 is provided on the master 2 having a smooth surface and subsequently baked in an oven and, thereafter, the soft layer is laminated. Next, the soft layer 1 is cut so as to form a scale pattern. Since the hardness of the soft layer 1 is different from that of the master 2, only the soft layer 1 can be selectively cut by inclining a bite. The depth of the scale pattern can be also controlled only by controlling the feed quantity of the bite. By this constitution, a master mold 4 for molding an optical scale is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
