PURPOSE:To obtain a noun phrase analysis result expression of high precision by using three kinds of dictionary where hypotactic qualification relations between fore nouns and hind nouns are described and examining possibilities of qualification relation divisionally in three stages. CONSTITUTION:A junction examining part 2 stores a fundamental pattern from an intermediate expression of a noun phrase in an original language sentence in a fundamental pattern storage buffer 3. The examining part 2 examines possibilities of all hypotactic qualification relations in the fundamental pattern. This examination is divisionally performed in three stages with three kinds of dictionaries through an original language word dictionary retrieving part 4, a noun backward junction semantic attribute exception dictionary retrieving part 6, and a noun forward and backward junction semantic attribute dictionary retrieving part 8 while relaxing examination conditions from conditions peculiar to words to those peculiar to semantic attributes. Next, possibilities of all paratactic qualification relations are examine,d thus outputting a noun phrase analysis result expression 11 of high precision.
