CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 1a is emitted by a laser beam oscillator 1 and the light spot 5 is formed on the planar surface 6a to be machined by a condenser lens 4. The light spot 5 is moved continuously relatively and one- dimensionally with respect to the surface 6a to be machined by the light spot scanning means 15 or the light spot 5 is moved so that one-dimensional locus 17 of the light spot 5 obtained by moving the light spot 5 relatively and one- dimensionally are lined up in parallel and the surface 6a to be machined is scanned by the light spot 5.
