PURPOSE:To obtain the subject modified substance, stable in a liquid state and good in compatibility with other resins by adding a trimerization catalyst, etc., to a (partially urethanized) organic polyisocyanate and partially converting NCO groups into isocyanurates. CONSTITUTION:A trimerization catalyst [e.g. 2,4,6-tris(dimethylaminomethyl) phenol], an organic phosphorous acid ester [e.g. tris(beta-chloropropyl) phosphate], a surfactant and a ferrocene compound (e.g. ethyldicyclopentadienyliron) are added to a (partially urethanized) organic polyisocyanate (preferably polymethylene polyphenyl polyisocyanate) to convert =20wt.% of the whole NCO groups into isocyanates and a terminator, as necessary, is added to afford the objective modified substance.
