TRAVELING ROUTE INDICATOR ON VEHICLE, ROAD INFORMATION TRANSMITTER, ROUTE GUIDE SYSTEM AND DISPLAY METHOD FOR NAVIGATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive traveling route indicator. CONSTITUTION: Information on an intersection of destination, being set by means of a switch 1, is transmitted on beacon from a beacon transmitter 9 to a traffic information center along with the ID number of a vehicle. A beacon receiver 11 receives a recommended route to the intersection of the destination, road connection information and advanceable direction information of lane on beacon from the traffic center. Recommended route information, based on the recommended route and information thus received, is then presented on a convenient display 5 and the recommended route is guided by means of a voice output unit 7. The operation is entirely controlled by means of a controller 3. This system eliminates the need of holding and displaying a map data. Name of intersection is recorded, along with the coordinates thereof, in the controller 3 and a user can input a destination conveniently by inputting the name of intersection on the switch 1.
