APPLICATION OF ALPHAAND OMEGA - ALKANE DICARBOXYLIC ACID AGAINST HEAVY INFECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a preparation or cosmetic for treating and preventing superinfections without affecting the normal physiological bacterial flora of skin by using an ,-alkane dicarboxylic acid as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This preparation or cosmetic contains an ,alkanedicarboxylic acid (derivative) preferably represented by the formula: HOOC-(CH2 )n -COOH [(n) is 1-8] in an amount of 0.01-10.0 wt.% (preferably 0.01-10.0 wt.%) as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula has remarkable actions on superinfections, especially staphylococci, Pityrosporum ovale, or dermatophytes. The preparation can be used in the form of sprays, gels, emulsions, waxes, powders, etc.
