The synthesis of quadricyclo(2,2,l,02,6,03,5)heptane-2.3-dicarbosylic acid by irradiation of bicyclo(2,2,l)hepta-2,5-diene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid is described. This represents the first compound reported with this ring system. This represents the first compound reported with this ring system.
