NOVEL SPIRO DERIVATIVE OF 6-OXABICYCLO(3.2.0)HEPTANE, ANTITUMOR AGENT, SELECTIVE CYTOTOXIC AGENT AGAINST HUMAN TUMOR CELL, MICROORGANISM PRODUCING THE DERIVATIVE AND PRODUCTION
PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound which is useful as an antitumor agent because it manifests high selectivity of cytotoxicity with a lowered concentration. ;CONSTITUTION: A compound of the formula (R1, R2 and Y each is a lower alkyl, a lower alkenyl, a hydroxy-(lower)-alkyl; X is hydroxy or a lower alkyl), for example, 7,7-dimethyl-5-hydroxy-3-oxo-6-oxabicyclo [3.2.0]heptane-4- spiro-1'-{2'-oxo-4'-(1-propenyl)-3'-cyclobutene}. This compound is obtained by culturing a microorganism in Chrysosporium (sp. No 632-3-W) under aerobic conditions to accumulate the compound of the formula in the culture medium, separating the culture mixture into the cell bodies and the supernatant by centrifugation and extracting the product from the supernatant followed by purification.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
