A scaffold which is intended to be used for building outside walls has one row of single or multiple uprights, separate working platforms which are connected to the said uprights, and separate material platforms, the working platforms being formed from loose floor pieces which rest on the brackets which are attached in such a manner that they can pivot, with respect to the uprights, between a position in which they extend approximately perpendicular to the plane of the uprights and a position in which they extend approximately in the plane of the uprights. The vertical distance between the floor surfaces of the working platforms is preferably 1.35 m, and the floor surfaces of the material platforms preferably lie 55-60 cm above the floor surfaces of the working platforms. When laying bricks, work takes place from the bottom upwards; when a constructed wall height which is approximately 25 to 40 cm above the desired level of the floor of the working platforms is reached, the brackets of the said working platforms are pivoted out into a position in which these brackets face towards the constructed wall. Then, floor parts are laid on the said pivoted-out brackets in order to form the said floor.
