The movable unit (5) is provided with a sensor (20) which monitors whether the banknotes have been moved out of their position during the access time, and a further sensor (26) is placed in the take-out gap (23), monitoring whether customers have taken the banknotes (6) during the access time. A dumping cassette is available receives the bundles of banknotes which have not been moved out of their position and which the customers have not taken during the access time. The movable unit can transport the bundle of banknotes from a stacking module to the take-out gap (23) and when necessary further to the dumping cassette. The banknotes are exposed to random disturbance movements with regard to frequency and movement directions, such movements coming from a motor (19) which via two gearwheels (17, 18), two cogged belt wheels (15, 16), two cogged belts (13, 14), cogged belt wheels (11, 12) and two drive rollers (9, 10) is pressed against the banknote bundle which it is able to feed in two directions.
