PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a working state of an automatic teller machine in a superior by efficiently using a bill storage space, when forgetting to take out a bill occurs.SOLUTION: The automatic teller machine 100 includes a customer reception unit 10 which receives or pays the bill following operation of a user; a removal-forgetting detecting part 21 which detects the bills which are forgotten to be removed in the customer reception unit 10; a removal-forgotten storage 54 in which the bill forgotten to be taken out is stored; an escrow unit 30 which temporarily stores the bill; a bill-counting part 23 which counts the number of sheets of bills forgotten to removed and detected by the removal-forgetting detecting part 21; a determination part 25, which determines whether the bill forgotten to be removed can be stored in the removal-forgotten storage 54, by comparing the number of sheets of counted bills forgotten to be removed with a free space of the removal forget storage 54; and a conveyance control part 26, which temporarily stores the bills forgotten to be removed in the escrow unit 30, when it is determined that the bills forgotten to be removed cannot be stored in the removal-forgotten storage 54.
