The present invention provides a novel polypeptide, IλB-β, which binds to and effects NF-λB gene activation. Also provided is the nucleotide sequence encoding IλB-β and methods of identifying compositions which affect IλB-β/NF-λB complexes. Methods of treatment of disorders associated with NF-λB induced gene activation are also described herein.
