The present invention relates to a method for extracting seconoganoside from gold silver, wherein the extract obtained by extracting gold silver with an aqueous solvent is subjected to hydrophobic phenyl sepharose chromatography and reverse phase high pressure liquid chromatography for collection. Since there is an inhibitory effect on the production of hepatitis B surface antigen, pharmaceutical compositions comprising it as an active ingredient can be very useful as a hepatitis B therapeutic agent.
