The carbonated beverage dispensing apparatus includes a cooler (11) having an inlet connected to a water source and an outlet connected to a cold water inlet (16) of the mixing valve (12). The water source also supplies water of atmospheric temperature to the hot water inlet 18 of the mixing valve 12. The mixing valve 12 receives the flow of two water streams and mixes them to produce a stream of cold output at its outlet 19. The carbonic acid water column 13 receives the flow of the constant temperature output water and carbonizes it. The dispensing unit 14, including the cooling unit, is connected to a beverage syrup source and a carbonated water supply to provide carbonated beverages by cooling the carbonated water and beverage syrup and dispensing them into an appropriate container. An ice maker is also connected to the output of the mixing valve to receive the stream of the constant temperature output and to produce the ice served to the carbonated beverage.
