摘要

The measurement of laminar burning velocities using the constant-volume combustion vessel method, requires a knowledge of adiabatic flame temperatures during the process. To this end a computer programme has been written which calculates the constant pressure combustion equilibrium composition, adiabatic flame temperatures and burnt gas molecular weights over a range of pressures and unburnt gas temperatures for different gaseous fuel/air mixtures.nThe programme employs the technique of minimisation of the free energy of the products of combustion via the method of steepest descent as derived by White, Johnson and Dantzig (WJ 58). The mathematical analysis of the computational technique is included, for completeness, together with a full programme listing and detailed logic diagrams, for ease of reference.
