Image processing for identification of colour objects e.g. for robotics

The image processing and object identification system is used to analyse, identify and classify coloured objects on the basis of colour, shape and position. The analyser (2) receives an input (1) that allows the scene to be sampled on a line and point basis. Coupled to the analyser and input unit is a control computer (4) and outputs are connected to a processor (3). The RGB values entered are converted (5) and used to access colour transformation and classification data in a look-up table (6). The values are entered into a memory (7). Corner information is encoded (8) and fed to the processor for classifying.
